What are my option with properties and commuting through the MBTA?
Commuter rail, subway, buses, and the ferry. There are many ways you can get around the greater Boston area. Commuter rails go out to, Haverhill, Newburyport, Rockport, Lowell, Wachusett, Worcester, Needham, Providence, Lakeville, Plymouth/Kingston, and Franklin… You certainly can find a stop within a distance to a desired property. Getting closer to Boston you have the green line, blue line, red line, orange line, and even the silver line if you’re a jet setter. It takes some time but knowing how to maneuver your way through the subways will become easy with enough rides. The buses get a little more complicated…or to me at least. There are 172 bus routes within the MBTA system to get you from one place to another. Boats to from Long Whaf and Rowes wharf to Logan, Charlestown, Hingham and hull. As of today (Feb. 2018), monthly passes to ride both the subway and bus can cost $85/mth. The commuter rail monthly can run from $85/mth to $400/mth. A monthly boat pass is $308/mth.
