Summer Home Maintenance Tips

Make Summer Maintenance easy with these 8 tips!

  1. Power wash the outside of your home.  Mold and mildew can grow faster in your home due to the heat and humidity.

  2. Get your chimney cleaned. Although you won't be using your fireplace during the hot summer months, this gives you the perfect chance to get it cleaned!

  3. Check your attic and basement. Look for signs of mildew, leaks, holes and dampness.

  4. Wash down your deck. Power wash your deck and remove any dirt by scrubbing with soap and water.

  5. Clean out gutters. Summer storms can cause debris to fall into the gutters.

  6. Check your home's insulation. With higher cooling costs in the summer, be sure to look for any cracks in places like garage doors or attics.

  7. Clean your lawn mower. The build up of grass in your lawn mower can clog some parts, leaving clumps on your lawn.

  8. Get new windows and doors. Upgrading on your windows and doors will help maintain temperature control.
