Agent Snapshot: Kayla Crugnale, Salesperson, Compass
Name: Kayla Crugnale
Title: Salesperson
Company: Compass
What was your first job in the realty industry? Answering phones at the front desk
Where did you grow up? Norton, MA
Growing up, what did you want to be? I always knew I would be some variation of a businesswoman, but I really considered being an architect.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Work out, or put on Criminal Minds and solve the crime before the experts
If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Michelle Obama
What do you love most about the industry? The stories. I learn so much from the lives, adventures, and experiences of clients, colleagues, and contractors.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I’m extremely punctual. In this industry, your time is never your own so it’s hard to not be five minutes late. I’m not afraid to say, “I gotta get going!”
What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The ever-changing schedule
Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I’m often around the city at events. I’m someone who can make friends with the wall and it’s important that I treat people as a potential friend rather than a client. If they become a client, it’s a win-win.
What has been your greatest accomplishment? Having two really great first years in real estate. It’s a make-or-break industry and I hope to continue!
What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Mark Wahlberg’s movie Patriots Day.
What is your favorite restaurant? Wild Willy’s in Watertown. Cheeseburgers are my favorite food and Wild Willy’s is my go-to.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? I actually think the Boston ICA may be one of my favorite buildings.
What kind of car do you drive? A Mazda…but ready to get back into the SUV life.
Smartphone or paper? I’m a healthy combination of both, but I’m a wizard on the smartphone.
What is your favorite city after Boston? Dallas. Texans have my heart.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Find a really great mentor and be a sponge.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? The Compass market app!
Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I’m really big on sports and go-getter women so my favorite to follow would have to be some of the NESN girls!
